Live Streaming with OBS
Setting up OBS
Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is an open source software package for recording and live streaming video.
It can be downloaded from their website: https://obsproject.com/
On that website they also have a forum and extensive help guides. Setup advice can also be found elsewhere online such as YouTube. This article will assume you have used OBS before and will simply go through how to configure it for streaming on our platform.
First, go to the Settings cog in the top right-hand corner then click the Channels menu. This will reveal a list of channels on your account and their associated RTMP (Ingest) URLs. Copy the URL which corresponds to the channel you will stream to.
In OBS, go to Settings and find the Stream menu. Paste the RTMP URL into the Server field but make sure to remove “/live” off the end, then type “live” into the Stream Key field. These fields are case sensitive.
Click OK and start streaming.
